I received this system and used it for about a week, the upgraded product is indeed better. Just as the seller indicated, H.265 NVR kit is better than that of H. 264 NVR kit. Its high definition is very helpful. The only thing is that I don't know whether it can store up to 30 days of data, and hope that it really can store 30 days of data as the seller has promised. I checked that the first recorded data are still there, so it should work. I asked the seller about the setting of the storage and I received a reply on the same day. An often-overlooked aspect of an alarm system is the recording device. After all, notifying law enforcement and sounding an intimidating siren from your alarm system is only half a solution. A Digital Video Recorder (DVR) or a Network Video Recorder (NVR) system provides evidence of whatever set off the alarm in the first place. If you have the extra bandwidth on your network, the higher quality video and easier setup of NVR is likely the best choice. However, if you need a reliable signal and want to spend less, the DVR system is worth a look.
The specific type of software that is being used also has a role to play on its price. On average, professional level software is offered at US$75, with some of them requiring annual fees for membership. Network attached storage or DVR, used for storing recorded video, will also be part of the cost. On average, that can cost about US$499. This will depend on the storage capacity and other features of the device chosen by the user.
Perhaps the coolest feature of this system is its motion detection feature that allows you to create active zones, which alert you when the cameras detect motion within the zones. The Amcrest includes a 1 TB hard drive, which means you could have up to 30 days of recordings if you use motion detection or lower resolution settings. The highest resolution for this system is 960H and it records at 30fps (frames per second).
